Komatsu
The Komatsu company was founded in 1921 and for a long time had a significant presence in Asia alone. In 1988, a joint venture was founded with Dresser Industries under the name Komatsu Dresser to manufacture and sell construction machinery. Only by taking over various small European producers was Komatsu able to gain larger market shares in Europe. In 1993 a collaboration with Cummins was agreed. In 1999, the Finnish forklift manufacturer Kalmar Industries acquired its North American subsidiary Kalmar AC. In 2003, Komatsu bought Kone's subsidiary Partek Forest. The Komatsu company has an extensive product range in the field of construction machinery and commercial vehicles such as forklifts and telehandlers. Forestry machines have also been part of the Komatsu range since 2004.
